Making Your Outfit Stand Out
When getting your spring and summer closet ready, you do not necessarily need to purchase new clothes. Sometimes, the clothes you already have are still in in good condition and in fashion. However, let me say this, you should have pieces in closet that will outlive fashion trends. Anyway, you do not need to break the bank to make every out stand out. Follow these three tips to help make your outfit stand out.
1. Color
Who does not love to add some color to his or her outfit? Color whether it is a bright shade, or a subtle version of your favorite color can help your outfit stand out. If you have a good-looking grey suit, you can add a different color top or shoes to change up the look. Color is such a personal and individual decision, so yes you can admire people and the way they add color but, make this about you. What colors do love to look at? How do colors make you feel? What colors look good on your skin. To dive deeper into color, think about shade, tint, and tone of a color. Maybe you are not into the brightness of a color. Perhaps your style needs a bit of gray, white, or black added to the color or pure hue. Whatever you do, experimenting is perfectly fine. Enjoy!
2. Pattern
For some patterns are a must, for others the more simplistic the better. However, adding different kinds of patterns such as stripes, paisley, houndstooth, or gingham, can really add to your outfit. Again, if you are more of the simplistic kind but want to venture out into the world of patterns, start off by adding something small to your outfit. Think about adding socks, a tie, or scarf, or shoes. It is OK try things on and get a sense of whether particular patterns suit you. With fashion, you are learning to figure out what coincides with you are and what you are trying to convey. Now, if you are already on the pattern bandwagon, I am sure you are used to mixing and matching different types of patterns. Go you! The one thing to be aware of is how many patterns are too much. Have fun but also know when enough is enough.
3. Bling
Last tip is do not forget about the bling. Rings, necklaces, earrings, and cuff links are some items that men and women have used to enhance an outfit. Think about what kind of event you are attending. Does this mean your jewelry can be big and flashy or subtle and discrete? How will your jewelry convey your message? Also, think about what color jewelry looks good on your skin tone. Does your skin have more of a warm tone or cool tone? If you have brown or green eyes with brown, or black hair, you most likely have a warm skin tone. For those with blue or green eyes with blonde, brown, or black hair, you most likely have a cool skin tone. With this in mind, you can find the right color of jewelry to wear.
I hope some of these tips help you enhance your style. As mentioned before, fashion is an ongoing art form, your ongoing art form. Sometimes outfits will work while others will never see another day. Be brave and go for it. There is nothing like putting yourself together and feeling the confidence it brings when you look in the mirror.
